The Umbrella Agreement is for the purpose of NASA and GEC to create a partnership to develop a 10 kW thermal power generator, that can be scaled to l00 kWt. The initial goal is to develop and run a self sustaining 10 kW thermal, 2 kW electric, hybrid generator suitable for planetary space missions and planetary surface power. Such generator technology would be scalable to 100 kWt at the Plum Brook Facility. Larger generator designs would be built and run at an appropriate offsite location.
